Subtract 480 years, and we come up with 1446 B.C. With more evidence than we need to go into here, it is well established and universally agreed that Solomon’s accession year was 970 B.C. It identifies Solomon’s fourth year of reign as the 480th year after the exodus from Egypt. 1 Kings 6:1 is a key date in Biblical Chronology.
